Jesse PRENTICE, son of Charles Garnham PRENTICE (c. 1850- ) and Mary Ann BRADSTREET (c. 1853- ), was born on 6 March 1889 in South Lopham, Norfolk - date of birth may be 31.12.1889, from baptism record.. He was baptised on 1 June 1890 in South Lopham - parents Charles and Mary Ann. No service record has been found for Jesse, but on 2 Apr 1911, (the 1911 Census), he was living in Belgaum, India - Private 7412, in the 2nd. Battalion Norfolk Regiment, so his enlistment was some time between 1901 and 1911. The 2nd Battalion was stationed in Bombay upon the outbreak of WWI, later serving in Mesopotamia. The regiment was certainly present in Belgaum in 1912. From a pension record he may have left military service on 14.08.1919, returning to South Lopham. He died circa 1952.
